Johnnie Peterson
INTERPRETING SCHEDULER

Johnnie Peterson is the Interpreter Scheduler here at the Lighthouse. He was born and raised in Mobile, Alabama. He is Deaf and comes from a large Deaf family, his parents and siblings are Deaf and his 2 nieces are also Deaf. Johnnie graduated from the Alabama School for the Deaf in Talladega in 1988. In 2001 he came to Seattle to visit his sister Debbie and loved it so much here he never left. He worked in a variety of settings before working at the Deaf-Blind Service Center as a Support Service Provider (SSP). He came to the Lighthouse in 2005 for the whirlwind job of scheduling interpreters here.
When Johnnie is not at the Lighthouse he enjoys being in the sun, swimming and spending time on the beach. Although in Seattle he has altered this a bit and goes to the pool for a swim, Lake Washington is just too cold!
