Suzette Ledet
DeafBlind Employment Specialist/Recruiter

Suzette Ledet joined the Lighthouse in April of 2006. Prior to this she attended Gallaudet University in Washington D.C. and graduated in 1992 with a BA in Business with hopes to start her own business. Her first experiences with Deaf-Blind people happened during her time at Gallaudet. After graduating from Gallaudet, Suzette moved to North Carolina and began working as a Computer Operator. In 1996 Suzette moved to New Orleans and took a job working with Deaf-Blind consumers at an Independent Living Center. This was also Suzette’s first year attending the Seattle Lighthouse Deaf-Blind Retreat at Seabeck. She has subsequently attended camp as a volunteer interpreter for 7 years. After working as Deaf-Blind Specialist at New Orleans Resources for Independent Living, she decided to return to school and earned a second degree from ITT in Multi-Media.
Suzette is a mother to a 5 year-old son; and when she is not at the Lighthouse, she loves to cook and travel.
