DB CLASS SCHEDULE

Location will be at SCCC, Room BE1110. EXCEPT WEDNESDAY, APRIL 8TH AT HSDC, 1625 19TH AVE IN SEATTLE, CONFERENCE ROOM

The class will be from 5:30 pm to 7 pm. Doors open 4:30 pm.

Wednesday, April 8 (HSDC)

Topic:

New Recycling Changes!

Presenters: Ron Harris-White from the Resource Center under the City of Seattle.

New changes will be on March 30, 2009. New changes are food and yard waste collection, Meat, fish and dairy scraps will be accepted, cups, deli trays, aluminum foil and metal items accepted, Glass and Jars together - no more separate containers and more!

Topic:

Police Dog

Presenters: The Police Officer, Sean Moore and his partner, Police Dog named Moose

What job does Moose do? How can Moose help Sean? Why do police need dogs for?

Wednesday, May 6 (SCCC)

Topic:

Metro Transit's New Access Transportation program: "Access Online"

Presenter: Janey Elliott

Use the Metro websit to confirm and cancel Access trips, making reservation for rides, and send feedback about their service on Access. Access Online will also send and return a text message confirming their rides for today and tomorrow. For now, we are looking for registered riders to test the system and give feedback before it is released to the general public.

HomeSight Program

Presenters: Velma Velonia

First Time Homebuyer? Or Need Refinancing? HomeSight is designed for first time home buyers eeking basic to extensive knowledge of the purchase process. Classes are combined with financial ssessment and coaching sessions where a HomeSight counselor and the buyer create budget and homebuyer action plans.

We work to tailor the education, counseling and urchase assistance, to ensure clients' needs are met.

Appreciation Party and Hawaii Hula!

Let's celebrate the volunteer interpreters who come to DB Class and all the volunteer SSPs and also DB members. Food and Dancing! Catering provided by Raving Radish, guaranteed to be delicious

Presenter: Heidi Aulenbach

Heidi will discuss about her experiences growing up in Hawaii and show the class the Hula dance. Men can be included the dance!

Dance only: Free

Appreciation Dinner is your option.

Cost:
Deaf Blind people: $10 per person
Children: $10 per child
Visitors: $20 per person
Volunteers: FREE!
